Eric Trump Discusses President Obama’s Jokes About His Father at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Eric Trump told outlets that President Obama’s jokes about his father Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner were “all in good fun,” adding “we are going to be there next year.”

Donald Trump wasn’t in the Washington Hilton ballroom Saturday night to hear Barack Obama skewer him in thepresident’s farewell White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech – but his son Eric Trump was.
But despite the many zingers at his dad’s expense – and there were many – Eric didn’t let the routine ruin his evening. In fact, he rather enjoyed it.

“I thought it was great, we had a great time,” Eric told PEOPLE moments after the dinner ended. “I thought they hit [Ted] Cruz harder and I thought they hit Hillary [Clinton] harder. It was well done.”

It helps to think that it could be his dad dropping the mic at next year’s dinner.

“There’s no doubt,” Eric said. “It will definitely be him up there [next year].”

The billionaire businessman’s son added that he’s “so proud” of how far his father has come.

“If you had told people 10 months ago that he would be doing this well they would have called him crazy – they did call him crazy. But he’s done an amazing job and run an amazing campaign.”
